Head injuries change lives – but they can also be prevented! That’s why we’ve launched the fan helmet: an official bike helmet with Superliga club logos that combines safety, community, and support for young people with brain injuries.

 

WHY A FAN HELMET?

In collaboration with five Danish Superliga clubs – FC Copenhagen, Brøndby IF, OB, FC Midtjylland and Viborg FF – we’ve created a bike helmet that not only protects your head but also supports an important cause. For every helmet sold, we donate 25 DKK to the project Young Brains, which helps young people rebuild their lives after a brain injury.

With the fan helmet, we bring together safety, solidarity, and the power of sport. Football has an enormous reach and a strong sense of community – and that’s exactly what we want to use to raise awareness about an often overlooked issue.

 

HELMET USE SAVES LIVES - BUT FEW YOUNG PEOPLE WEAR ONE

We all know it: a bike helmet can make the difference between a minor accident and a life-changing injury. According to the Danish Road Safety Council, wearing a helmet can reduce the risk of serious head injuries by up to 60%.

Still, helmets remain somewhat of a taboo – especially among young people. Among those aged 16–25, only 20–25% regularly wear a bike helmet, making this group one of the most at risk.

 

HEAD INJURIES AND CONCUSSIONS - AN OVERLOOKED ISSUE

Every year, at least 25,000 Danes suffer a concussion. Of these, 10–15% experience long-term or chronic symptoms such as concentration difficulties, fatigue, headaches, and social isolation. These are life-changing consequences – yet the issue often doesn’t receive the attention it deserves.

With the fan helmet, we aim to shine a light on this. And with the help of football – both clubs and fans – we can make a real difference.
